Mathematical Animations & Gagarin Day

Project Overview

Scientific outreach initiative and mathematical animation series programmed in Python using the Manim engine (originally created by Grant Sanderson of 3Blue1Brown). The project was prepared for the international Gagarin Day 2026 competition.

Conceptual & Technical Framework

  • Historical Audiovisual Narrative: The script bridges the historic 108 minutes of Yuri Gagarin’s 1961 orbital flight with contemporary orbital navigation challenges within the Artemis II lunar program.
  • Orbital Mechanics & Mathematical Modeling: Dynamic visual demonstrations of Hohmann transfer ellipses, free-return lunar trajectories, and delta-$v$ impulse calculations.
  • Open Source Ecosystem: All scene source code, keyframed timeline scripts, and synchronized multilingual subtitle assets are structured in an open GitHub repository for educational and pedagogical use.
